Chagall Museum
The Chagall Museum in Nice was established
during the lifetime of Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985)
by the famous French Minister of culture André Malraux (1901 - 1976).
The Museum is located in the height of the city of Nice.
The Museum was inaugurated 1973
as a « musée national message biblique Marc-Chagall »
The collection is based on a donation by Marc Chagall
to the State of France
in 1966.
Later acquisitions completed the collection
making the Museum the place one of the locations
with the most Chagall paintings.
